I structure and deliver housing, healthcare, student accommodation and mixed-use developments across South Africa's underserved markets — from feasibility through financial close, in partnership with development finance institutions and private capital.
I'm a property developer and transaction advisor working across South Africa's social infrastructure landscape — housing, healthcare, education and mixed-use development. My background is in engineering, with further postgraduate study in finance and investment, before moving into property development and capital structuring.
Through Mabindu Developments, I work in two capacities: as development manager and co-developer on own-account projects, and as a transaction advisor raising capital through development finance institutions for third-party sponsors. My focus is on underserved markets — townships, peri-urban and rural areas — where I've found demand is consistently underestimated relative to supply.
Affordable rental and residential developments built for safety, quality design and long-term occupancy.
NSFAS-aligned developments addressing South Africa's persistent off-campus housing shortfall.
Boutique and mid-scale hospitality developments in tourism and transitional nodes.
Structuring public-private partnerships on municipal and state land for residential and mixed-use outcomes.
Feasibility, market demand studies, and entity/SPV structuring — turning a site or idea into a proposal a DFI can actually assess.
Town planning, environmental and engineering work carried through to procurement-ready documentation ahead of formal funding applications.
DFI and equity engagement through to financial close, then development and construction-phase oversight to practical completion.
We engage Development Finance Institutions and other funding partners to structure appropriate debt solutions for qualifying developments.
Have a development opportunity, an investment proposition, or a strategic partnership to structure? I work with landowners, developers, investors, funders and DFIs to turn viable social infrastructure opportunities into bankable, deliverable projects.
Tell me about the site, the sector, or the capital you're bringing — I'll follow up directly.
